Fast-acting hydration, lasting comfort and a refreshing cooling sensation for dry, tired and irritated eyes.
Rohto® Dry Aid is an advanced lubricating eye drop designed to relieve dry eye symptoms including dryness, burning, grittiness, stinging and irritation.
Featuring Rohto's innovative Liquidshield™ technology, this formulation helps support the natural tear film, delivering smooth, long-lasting lubrication without the heavy or greasy feeling associated with some eye drops.
With a combination of two lubricating ingredients, povidone 0.68% and propylene glycol 0.3%, Rohto Dry Aid helps moisturise the ocular surface and protect against further irritation caused by dryness.

Why We Like Rohto Dry Aid at Illume
At Illume Eye Care, we know that finding the right lubricating eye drop is not always straightforward. Different formulations suit different types of dry eye, and personal preference plays an important role in comfort and consistent use.
We like Rohto Dry Aid for its combination of effective lubrication, lightweight feel and refreshing cooling sensation.
Its dual lubricants help protect the ocular surface, while Liquidshield™ technology is designed to provide longer-lasting comfort.
For patients who find traditional artificial tears too thick or who enjoy a cooling sensation, Rohto Dry Aid offers another option.
Our clinical advice: Rohto Dry Aid contains preservatives and menthol, so it may not be the best option for everyone, particularly those with very sensitive ocular surfaces or people who require frequent long-term lubrication. We also stock preservative-free alternatives for patients who need them.
How to Use

Contact lens wearers: Remove contact lenses before applying Rohto Dry Aid. Follow the product instructions before reinserting your lenses.
Avoid touching the bottle tip to your eye, eyelids or fingers. Replace the cap securely after use.

Is Rohto Dry Aid preservative-free?
No. The 10ml multidose Rohto Dry Aid contains a preservative. A preservative-free version is available in single-use vials, which may be preferable for people with sensitive eyes or requiring frequent lubrication.
Why do Rohto Dry Aid eye drops feel cooling?
Rohto Dry Aid contains menthol, which creates a refreshing cooling sensation when applied. Some people enjoy this sensation, while others with sensitive eyes may prefer an eye drop without menthol.
Can I use Rohto Dry Aid with contact lenses?
Contact lenses should be removed before applying Rohto Dry Aid. Follow the manufacturer's reinsertion guidance. For dryness while wearing contact lenses, ask your optometrist about a compatible rewetting drop.
When Eye Drops Aren't Enough
Dry eye symptoms can have several underlying causes, including meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), poor tear-film stability and ocular surface inflammation.
Lubricating eye drops can provide important symptom relief, but persistent dry eye may require more targeted treatment.
At Illume Eye Care, our advanced dry eye clinic in Ponsonby, Auckland, our optometrists use detailed tear-film assessments and advanced diagnostic technology to identify the underlying cause of dry eye symptoms.
We offer personalised treatment plans, including home care, prescription therapies and in-clinic treatments such as IPL, Low-Level Light Therapy and LipiFlow.
