Our Speciality Eye Care Services
At Illume Eye Care, we offer a full range of optometric services—delivered with precision, compassion, and a focus on long-term visual clarity, eye comfort, and ocular health. Our approach combines advanced diagnostic technology with personalised care to ensure your eyes are not only seeing well but staying healthy for years to come.
We go beyond routine checkups with a suite of services tailored to each stage of life and every eye condition—especially those often underdiagnosed or undertreated.
Comprehensive Eye Examinations
A routine eye exam at Illume is anything but routine. We take the time to thoroughly assess your eye health and vision, using industry-leading diagnostic tools and evidence-based practice guidelines. Your comprehensive eye exam will include:
- Detailed Case History: Vision, lifestyle, eye health and general health
- Refraction and Binocular Vision Assessment: To determine your prescription for glasses or contact lenses, or need for visual training
- Anterior Eye Health Assessment: Using high-resolution anterior segment imaging
- Eye pressure measurement (IOP): To screen for glaucoma, but not the dreaded PUFF test
- OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography): A painless, non-invasive scan to check the retina and optic nerve
- Widefield Retinal Imaging and Assessment: To view and capture detailed views of your peripheral retina
We explain every step and provide clear, practical advice on how to keep your eyes at their best—whether that includes glasses, contact lenses, lifestyle changes or further care. While we don't sell glasses, we are happy to make recommendations on where you can get some eyewear that suits your needs.
Children’s Eye Exams
Children experience the world through their vision—and healthy eyes are essential for learning, development, and confidence.
At Illume, we offer thorough and child-friendly eye exams tailored to your child’s age, stage, and needs. We assess not just what they can see, but how their eyes work together and how their vision supports learning and concentration.
Our children's exams include:
- Visual acuity testing: How well they can see near and far
- Binocular vision assessment: How well their eyes team and track, and focusing and eye coordination tests
- Axial length measurement: A key metric for monitoring myopia risk and progression
- Cycloplegic refraction (when needed): To accurately assess prescription without eye strain
- Ocular health Assessment: To check for congenital or developing issues
We're here to support kids with everything from glasses and contact lenses to myopia management and visual comfort for digital learning.
